5 Restaurants you didn’t know you could find at Changi Airport

Airports are not known for having the best food in the world. In fact, airport food is often seen as overpriced and underwhelming. But, Changi just outshines all the other airports even when it comes to food. While there aren’t any Michelin-star restaurants (yet), here are five yummy restaurants you didn’t know you could find at Changi Airport.

1. Ananda Bhavan Restaurant

Ananda Bhavan restaurant has been around since 1924, making it possibly the oldest Indian vegetarian restaurant on this island. There’s no mistaking the crowds if you head to the Little India outlets. So in case you’re going to be missing spice and rich flavours during your travels, have your South or North Indian fix here. Best part? It’s open 24 hours!

Location:

Terminal 2, Public Area

Viewing Mall, Departure Check-in Hall, Level 3

Opening Hours : 24 hours

2. Ramen Champion

If you are a ramen lover (we know most people are), then you’d be happy to know that there’s Ramen Champion right at the airport. The only other branch is in Bugis Iluma, so whether you’re flying or not, it’s worth making a trip to the airport to have a taste of the four best ramen restaurants from four major cities in Japan. Gantetsu, Gensuke, Riki and Ikkousha each has its own unique style of ramen. Like your broth thick or your noodles curly? You’d get it all here.

Location:

Terminal 3, Public Area

Basement 2

Opening Hours : 10.30am – 11.00pm

3. Krispy Kreme

This doesn’t classify as a restaurant, though some would admit that they’d eat doughnuts for dinner. It sure took a long while for Krispy Kreme to come to our shores, and they only have three stores in Singapore!  But boy, doughnut lovers know that it’s worth the wait. It’s got a whole range of flavours, but the Original Glazed seems to be everyone’s favorite. It’s also open 24 hours, so if you need a 3am sugar-high, you know where to go.

Opening Hours : 24 Hours

4. 4 Fingers Crispy Chicken

There’s a good reason why there’s always a queue in the outlets downtown. 4 Fingers Crispy Chicken is the birthchild of four friends who chanced upon amazing Korean fried chicken in New York City, and decided to bring it to Singapore. And so it seems, Changi Airport is a pretty apt place to have an outlet, no? It’s not your regular humble fried chicken. Moist, juicy, and packed with flavours, try it if you haven’t and you’ll see what we mean.

Location:

Terminal 3, Public Area

Basement 2

Opening Hours :

10.30am to 11.00pm (Sun to Thu)

10.30am to 1.00am

(Fri, Sat and Eve of PH)

5. Hard Rock Café

Hard Rock Café is an old-time favorite, and there aren’t many airports in the world that’d have a Hard Rock right within the transit areas. While you won’t find any live bands performing here, you do have an extensive menu with the burgers, fajitas, and All-American breakfast sets (perfect for early morning flights). For hardcore fans, Hard Rock merchandise is sold here.

Location:

Terminal 3, After immigration

Departure Transit Lounge

Opening Hours : 6.00am – 1.00am
