Singapore usually has 11 public holidays each year, but the number can occasionally change because Islamic festivals follow a lunar calendar. Since the Islamic calendar is shorter than the Gregorian calendar, Hari Raya Puasa or Hari Raya Haji can sometimes fall twice within the same calendar year, creating an extra public holiday.
